Summit Land Partners was founded by two seasoned and respected california real estate executives, Bruce Akins and Tim Unger, to focus on residential community development, mixed-use and re-use alternatives. the two summit executives were previously members of the top echelon of newport beach-based catellus residential group, a wholly owned subsidiary of catellus development corporation (nyse:cdx). subsequent to its formation in 1996, through a merger with the Akins companies, catellus residential became one of california’s leading residential developers and homebuilders. each of summit’s founders contributes thirty plus years of industry experience in development of both traditional and challenging residential properties. together they have managed the construction of over 18,000 housing units, as well as the development of more than 20,000 residential lots for sale to third party builders. from 2003 to 2008 they participated in the creation of the armada llc land portfolio of over 3,000 residential lots.

Bruce Akins, principal at Summit Land Partners
with a family lineage of homebuilding dating back to 1948 (the Akins company), Bruce Akins career has spanned almost every facet of residential development. following sale of the privately held Akins companies to catellus development (cdx; nyse) in 1996, Bruce served as president of catellus residential group until early 2000. his strategic, financial and operational experience contributes greatly towards summit’s capabilities and successes. Bruce Akins was the recipient of the 1998 lifetime achievement award from the southern california building industry association, and holds a degree in business administration from the university of southern california.

Jason Perrin, executive vice president and at Summit Land Partners
Jason Perrin has more than 16 years of expertise in real estate finance, joint ventures, operations and acquisitions & dispositions. Jason Perrin is responsible for the overall financial planning, capital sourcing, project underwriting, accounting & reporting, and plays a vital role as part of the acquisition team. prior to joining summit, Perrin was a principal with greencrossing real estate companies, a land development and management company located in southern california. earlier, Perrin served as senior vice president of lennar corporation where he was responsible for the finance and business operations of the southern california inland empire region. additionally, Perrin structured and managed 10 joint ventures, which included more than 15,000 lots and negotiated the disposition of over $600 million of real estate. Perrin started his lennar career as a member of the west region corporate finance team, where he was involved in company wide business and financial planning, private home builder acquisitions and off balance sheet land banking. prior to lennar, Perrin worked for archstone communities trust, e&y kenneth leventhal and a private homebuilder. Perrin received an mba from the university of southern california marshall school of business and a bachelor’s degree from the university of colorado.

Tim Unger, principal at Summit Land Partners
a career real estate entrepreneur, Tim Unger’s creativity, land use experience and problem solving capabilities have contributed to successful execution of innumerable projects within the california market place. as a key member of the management committee at catellus residential group, Tim was directly responsible for all residential land development investments. he was president of the subsidiary from early 2000 through 2002 and has held top positions with various other residential real estate development companies, including broadmoor homes, barratt american and john laing homes. Tim Unger founded and operated his own homebuilding company, rockfield homes, from 1987 until 1996. he is a graduate of california state university northridge and has attended the graduate school of management at university of california, irvine.

Rhonda neely, vice president at Summit Land Partners
Rhonda is among the most highly respected project management professionals in california land development. she has experience in all facets of entitlement, community design and development. central amenities in several of Rhonda’s projects have included golf courses, a man-made recreational lake, an aquatic center, and an extensive passive habitat/trail system. in addition to an environmentally sensitive approach to planning, Rhonda brings both earnest advocacy and balanced objectivity to her projects and to Summit Land Partners overall land program. Rhonda neely has previously held management positions with catellus residential group, greystone homes, and john laing homes.
