Transportation connects home and educational opportunity, and that reality shapes how Summit companies operate in every market. We know that having suitable transportation can be life-changing, so we donate buses to churches, non-profits, and after-school programs. We care deeply about the communities we serve and are proud to support organizations and programs that strengthen them.

Partners Beyond the Bus
With Community being a core value for our Company, Partners Beyond the Bus is our company outreach program, showcasing our commitment to supporting the communities that we serve through action – not just words. Each year more than two‑thirds of our organization participates in community involvement efforts that extend far beyond safely transporting students to and from school each day.
From donating vehicles to first responders for training purposes, to providing transportation, Wi-Fi, and meals during times of crisis, we step up when our communities need us most. We honor our veterans and military personnel through volunteerism, donations, and meaningful recognition of their service, and we support those facing hardship through donation drives and hands‑on support. Together, we proudly collaborate with our district partners to champion causes that matter to them, our student riders, and their families. At Summit School Services, we might operate nationally, but we serve locally.
Operation Warm
As Partners Beyond the Bus, we’re proud to partner with Operation Warm, a respected non-profit organization dedicated to fostering warmth, confidence, and hope to under-resourced children. Hosting our first event in November 2025, we donated over 800 brand new, high-quality coats to the students of Rochester City School District in Rochester, New York. Thirty-eight of our team members from across the country volunteered and participated in this impactful event.
With the success of this event, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Operation Warm and helping even more families throughout the communities that we serve.
Alliance for the Children: Giving Tree Program
For many years, our corporate office in Warrenville, IL, has partnered with Alliance for the Children during the holiday season to support families in need through their Giving Tree Program. Through this initiative, we have proudly helped fulfill the holiday wishes of hundreds of children from underserved communities throughout the Chicagoland area in Illinois, by purchasing wish list items requested by each child using a designated wish ticket.
Requested gifts often include toys, clothing, and essential items such as socks and undergarments, as well as personal care items. This program offers our corporate support team members a meaningful opportunity to give back and make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of children, reflecting our shared community value to support students beyond transportation.
